SCE Plasma - Thumbnail

Post by qniens »

The Plasma thumbnail only renders the pixels where there is a fixtures.
This is different from all the other SCE effects. The other SCE effects all render to whole matrix as a preview.
I'm loading the thumbnails into a touchscreen via HTTP. The SCE Plasma thumbnail looks very different because of it. It doesn't look as nice. And that is a shame, because Plasma is one of the very useful effects!

Expected behavior: Thumbnail generation is the same for all SCE effects
Current behavior: SCE Plasma renders a different thumbnail (Only the pixels with a fixture behind it are rendered).

Maybe this is more a feature request then a bug. But a fix is hopefully not so hard (Ignore alpha?)

Hello qniens,

Correct this is not a bug.
But you will have the following workarround:
1.) In MADRIX go to "Preferences > Options" and switch to the "Performance" tab.
2.) Now have a look to the section: "Included Voxels", change it to "All" and click "OK"
3.) Please perform a click with the right mouse button on the "Main Output Preview" and choose "Patch Mask > Transparent".
4.) In this step please activate the desired storage places and perform a click with the right mouse button on the storage place button and choose "Thumbnail > Generate" in the popup menu. Now the Thumbnail will never more generated automtically only if you click this button again.
5.) After you have generated all Thumbnails please go again to "Preferences > Options" and switch to the "Performance" tab and change the "Included Voxels" back to "Patched Only". If you don't want to change this setting back you will always see the effect in the gaps but will also need more PC performance
